Contact PcFixin'

Email is the way in. There's no form to fight with, no ticket number, and no queue — messages come to me. Write as much or as little as you like; I'd rather have too much detail than too little.

Questions about a guide, a step that didn't match your machine, or a how-to that ought to exist and doesn't.

What to put in the message

The most useful thing you can send me isn't a diagnosis — it's the story. On a house call I'd ask you what you were doing when it went wrong and then stay quiet while you told me, because the answer is almost always in there. Email works the same way. If you can, include:

  1. What machine it is — a desktop or a laptop, and the make and model if you know it.
  2. Which operating system, and roughly which version: Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS, or something older. "I'm not sure" is a fine answer; say that instead of guessing.
  3. What you were doing at the moment it went wrong. Opening an app, installing an update, plugging something in, waking it from sleep — that detail does a lot of work.
  4. Exactly what you see. If there's an error message, the wording matters; a photo of the screen taken with your phone is perfect and is often better than a description.
  5. What has changed recently, even if it seems unrelated — a new update, a new printer, a new router, a message you clicked on.
  6. What you've already tried, so I don't send you back through it.

You don't need the right words for any of this. Describe it the way you'd describe it to a friend. Sorting out what it's actually called is my job, not yours.

Two different kinds of help

It's worth being straight about which one you want, because they're not the same thing and they don't live at the same address.

Questions about the guides — that's here. PcFixin' is the how-to library: free articles, written for people who'd rather understand the fix than pay for it. If an article didn't work on your machine, if a step looks different on your screen, or if you want a guide written for a problem nobody else has covered, email whois@pc-fixin.com. Corrections are genuinely welcome — an article that's wrong is worse than no article.

Someone to actually do the work — that's Geaux Tech NOLA. Repair, setup, data rescue, networks, backups, and small-business IT support are handled by my New Orleans company, Geaux Tech NOLA. Same person, same listen-first method, but it's a separate business with its own contact details and its own terms — reach it through its contact page. If you write to PcFixin' about hands-on work I'll point you there anyway, so you may as well save a step.

What I can't promise

I'm one person, not a support desk, so I'm not going to invent a response-time guarantee I can't keep. I read everything that comes in and I answer what I can. If a question turns into a good article, it usually ends up on the site — which is how a fair number of these guides got written in the first place.
